About Us

Metrocrest Parents of Multiples offers an opportunity to make connections and share what at times can be overwhelming and, at other times, deeply gratifying experience of raising multiples. It has truly enriched my parenting experience. Prospective members can enjoy two programs before joining MPOM at any time. Please email me at president@mpom.net if you have any questions or would like to know more. We hope you join our community!

General Meetings: MPOM meets at 7:30pm on the third Thursday of each month at Trietsch Methodist Church in room D110 (Click here for a map).  Special events in May (Installation Dinner), September (Fall BBQ) and December (Christmas Party) are held in various locations. On the agenda after club announcements, you'll find a variety of educational and dynamic speakers ranging from Marriage Counselors, nutritionists, and speech therapists to interior decorators, child proofing specialists, and pediatricians all ready to share valuable knowledge with you!

Nearly Newlies: If you are currently pregnant with multiples or are the proud parent of multiples under the age of 1, we invite you to attend Nearly Newlies. Discover tricks and tips for surviving and thriving through the first year in this small, informal Q&A group that provides a forum for expectant parents to exchange information and get their questions answered by those who’ve been through it. You do not need to be a member to attend Nearly/Newlies. It meets at 7:00 pm before the general meeting.

Online Community: If getting out of the house is a rarity for you, we invite you to take advantage of our online community on BigTent.com where we exchange tips and advice! BigTent offers us a place to communicate and keeps us organized through forums, the "daily buzz", group calendars, online classifieds and event reminders.

Children's Socials: MPOM offers at least one Children's Social per month, ranging from park or mall play dates to a fire station tour to an activity at a member's home! In addition, we have several family-friendly parties each year. These events are the biggest all club events each year and aren't to be missed! Each theme party has various activities for all ages of children from babies on up! Some of these events are completely paid for by member dues, others require a nominal fee. Splash Bash, Snowflake Festival, Spring Fling, Pumpkin Party and more!

Mom's Night Outs/ Retreat: Ready for some time away from your kiddos with other moms who know what your life is like? Join us for our monthly Mom's Night Outs! These activities range from Pedicures & Mexican Food to Wine Tastings to dinners at area restaurants. Also our annual overnight retreat at the Gaylord Texan is just the right amount of time and distance away to feel like a mini vacation! Spa services, pool time, dinner out...need I say more?

Service: Whether it is cooking and delivering a meal for a new bleary eyed Mother of Multiples, stuffing NICU Survival Bags, making blankets for needy babies, or dropping off a bag of goodies for a member on bed rest, we are looking for ways to give back and make life easier for each other. If you have a heart for service MPOM has opportunities for you to help other MoMs in need.

Fundraising: Each fall our club hosts a large garage sale that allows members to buy and sell gently used baby items, house wares, clothing and more! It is open to the public and is one of our main sources of fundraising. We also have a fabulous professional photography fundraiser twice a year that helps raise money for the club and gives members the opportunity to have beautiful family pictures taken at a great price!

Additional Programs: MPOM has several other helpful programs to support its members. The Preemie Closet consists of gently used preemie clothes that members can borrow. We are always accepting donations of these items! MPOM also maintains a library of general and multiples specific parenting books. The Member Resource List is a list of members willing to share specific experiences on raising multiples with others, such as bed rest, breastfeeding, and special needs.
